Melissa Zegley
Melissa Zegley is a Long Island Native who moved to the Lehighton, Pennsylvania area in 1990. She was drawn to the area after spending summers and vacations near Beltzville Lake State Park growing up. She lives with her husband Jim and has one son.
Her yoga journey began as a way to control her breath and exercise while living with asthma. Yoga has made her stronger; mind, body and spirit. She completed her 200 and 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training through The Yoga and Ayurveda Center under Steph Ball-Mitchell. She has her RYT-500 certification through Yoga Alliance. She has also completed her Chair Yoga Teacher Certification, Restorative Yoga Certification, and Yin Yoga Certification through The Yoga and Ayurveda Center. She completed her Curvy Yoga Certification through Curvy Yoga with Anna Guest-Jelley. She studied meditation under Swami Vidyanand and is a CMT 500 and Grand Master of Meditation registered with Meditation Alliance International. She primarily teaches restorative yoga and guided meditations-with and without sound offerings.
Melissa is also a Reiki Master. She received her first Usui Reiki Attunement in 2012 and began working on friends and family. Since then Melissa received her Usui Reiki Master Attunement from 4 Hands Spiritual Healing. She incorporates meditation, pranayama, singing bowls, reiki and essential oils in her yoga practice.
Melissa also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, being outdoors, gardening, paddle boarding and kayaking. Along with her husband Jim, Melissa has a wellness business called Zen with Zegley. They make their own jewelry, sundry products and more. They also offer reiki, singing bowl meditations, and essential oil workshops. Melissa is excited to now be offering Yoga as well.
Jim Zegley was born and raised in Buck Mountain and moved to Lehighton in 2004. He lives with his wife Melissa and has one stepson. He is an Electronics Engineering Technician at Brooks Instruments in Hatfield.
Jim began his Reiki journey with Melissa when her physician recommended it for her asthma. He received his Level One Usui Reiki Attunement in 2012. He then began practicing on family and friends. Jim is currently studying to become a CMT 200 through The Yoga And Ayurveda Center
Jim's interest in Singing Bowls began around ten years ago. He picked up a singing bowl in a store in Bethlehem and began playing. That bowl was the first in his collection. There are now over forty Singing Bowls in his collection and Jim teaches Intro to Singing Bowl Workshops. He and Melissa also facilitate Singing Bowl Meditations.
Jim enjoys creating, some of his hobbies include, 3D Printing, beekeeping, home brewing, sewing, and jewelry making as well. Many of the items in the Zen with Zegley shop are his creations.
